Peer Review Session for Healthy Planning Research and Tools June 26th, 10 – 11:30am, 1390 Market Street, Suite 910Neighborhood Completeness Indicators: We invite you to attend a peer review session for our new research to develop indicators of neighborhood completeness for key public and retail services in San Francisco. We will be discussing our work on Neighborhood Completeness Indicator maps and data for key public services and key retail services , which are included in our Healthy Development Measurement Tool web site. PHES is co-sponsoring this session with the Healthy Places Coalition. The manuscript describes the 18-month ENCHIA process, key outcomes, and lessons learned. It also provides an overview of the Healthy Development Measurement Tool and examples of its first applications to urban planning.Environmental Impact Assessment Paper Published April 2008Dr. Rajiv Bhatia is co-author of a new manuscript "Integrating Human Health into Environmental Impact Assessment: An Unrealized Opportunity for Environmental Health and Justice" in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives. The manuscript presents several case studies, and recommends greater collaboration along with guidance, resources, and training for integrated Health Impact Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment practice.New Film: Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick? ENCHIA (Eastern Neighborhoods Community Health Impact Assessment) Final Report. September 2007The ENCHIA Final Report, which provides a full accounting of ENCHIA's history, process, achievements, and challenges, is now available. Additional report information and appendices can be found here. As one of the first examples of a collaborative health impact assessment of land use planning in the U.S., the report serves diverse audiences, including ENCHIA participants, San Francisco public agencies and organizations, and others who are interested in advancing healthy development policy through collaborative and participatory processes.
